It's Time to SarBay!

"Sarangani Bay is a bay located on the southern tip of Mindanao in the Philippines. It opens up to the Celebes Sea on the Pacific OceanGeneral Santos City, one of the Philippines most important cities and ports, is located on the bay, making the bay one of the busiest. The province of Sarangani, created in 1992, is named after the bay."

The clear waters of the Sarangani Bay is home to many aquatic species. Not only that, Sarangani Bay's white-sand beaches (porpularly called the beaches of Gumasa) plus its fascinating sceneries are what you would like to paint on your canvases. The beach is perfect for peace-loving people especially that the people there have a warm welcoming spirit and presents an aura that's equally beautiful as the place they live in.

While Visayan people say "We have Boracay!", the people of the south has also something to say: "Wala kayo sa amin, meron kaming Gumasa!" ANSAVEEHH?!

Do I sound formal now ? :) That was just the introduction. It was hard looking for facts about the Sarangani Bay ha ? The ideas are so limited on google. Good thing I found its geographical information on Wikipedia, the website that won't let you down hahahaha

I seriously studied the handout they had given me during the 'like marathon' . I even used a highlighter so I wouldn't forget the facts that I want to emphasize the most.

Just so you know, SarBay Fest is the biggest beach party in Mindanao. It is a two-day event you will never forget. This year's fest is the 7th celebration since 2006.

From 5,000 people who partied with them in the first SarBay Fest, they are expecting over 40,000 tourists on May 18-19 to party on the beaches of Gumasa from sunset until sunrise. Now,how cool is that ?! I know! That number's a lot. That's why they're also preparing a bigger place for better partying (LOL) which is a two-hectare venue which is enough to cater all party people.hahaha

One of the higlights of the celebration is the 15-kilometer swim-across-the-bay (which I would really love to participate) wherein ten teams will compete from Tinoto beach in Maasim to Reycon Beach in Glan. On the second thought, I think it would be better for someone with low endurance (like me) to just watch and cheer hahahaha Three-hour swim? No thanks, but to people who loves extremes: WHY NOT?!

Other activities include the paragliding in Maasim (which would really fulfill my dream of seeing the skies upclose) , fire dance competition which is open to all and of course, party. Who would not like to have fun all night?

Speakers, volume up for It's time to SarBay!

Now lets take a look at the Fest's deeper purpose: "..whatever gross the organizers get from SarBay fest,it'll always go to the bay's benefits-putting up artificial reefs,clean-ups, and harvesting of crown of thorns are just a few."

Let me ask you, where can you find a place where you party and yet you still help? SARBAY,I say.

Classes are opening guys, you don't want to miss this event! It's a very fun way to end your summer vacation, right? :)
